Personal data

Privacy policy

This policy describes the site as currently published: storage of the consent choice, external services loaded after a click and any audience measurement activated after consent.

Data controller

The site is currently signed AH. The controller's status, full legal identity and contact details must still be entered in the legal notice before final publication.

Required before publication: a genuine contact channel through which visitors can exercise their rights.

This notice is intentionally practical: it names the technical uses currently planned by the site, without pretending that a myth and film guide needs more personal data than its visitors choose to allow.

Data collected

  • Privacy preference, kept for six months in the browser's local storage when audience measurement is configured.
  • Audience-measurement data if the user accepts statistics.
  • Technical data automatically transmitted by the browser while visiting the site.
  • Data that may be processed by embedded video players when the user launches a video.

Local storage and audience measurement

When audience measurement is available, the site remembers the choice under troie_cookie_consent_v1 in the browser's local storage. This setting does not leave the device, expires after six months and is used only to honor the visitor's agreement or refusal.

No audience-measurement provider is configured in this build. No third-party statistics script is loaded, and no consent panel is displayed.

Purposes, legal bases, recipients and retention

  • Privacy choice: honor the visitor's decision; necessary local storage; no external recipient; six months; no transfer.
  • Technical requests and logs: deliver and secure the site; legitimate interest; hosting provider Netlify; retained for a period that must be confirmed before publication. As Netlify is based in the United States, the transfer framework applying to the account must be confirmed.
  • YouTube video: provide playback requested through an informed click; consent expressed by that click; Google/YouTube; subsequent retention and transfers are governed by their own terms.

Videos, maps and external links

Trailer preview images are local. A connection to YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com) is opened only after a deliberate click on play; the service may then process technical data under its own rules.

Google Maps and OpenStreetMap are offered as links, so their content is not loaded automatically on the page. Other external sources are likewise contacted only after their link is activated.

Purposes

The data is used to operate the site, remember consent preferences, measure audience after consent and improve the content offered around Troy, Homer and The Odyssey.

Audience statistics, when enabled, are used to understand which pages are useful, which reading paths are followed and where the site needs clearer navigation or stronger editorial links.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of data concerning you. You may also object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time through the privacy button.

If needed, you may file a complaint with the CNIL. The publisher contact channel still needs to be completed before final publication.
